Streets of Paris with Rotolight

I have always enjoyed shooting at night with on camera flash but now with mirrorless cameras and LED lighting its a whole new ball game. Using the Sony A7r ii, Zeiss 35mm f1.4 and the Rotolight Neo I can set up the camera for the ambient light, then adjust the power and colour temp of the Rotolight to balance them both for the look that I’m after. And I see it live in the viewfinder before I take the shoot. I have posted some BTS and camera settings at the end.

Stellar Images, Forgeous Model & Lightening Wizard you are!

I’m curious why you didn’t use the Sony A7S II – isn’t that supposed to be cleaner at high ISO? Also interested in how you like the Sony A7R II with Leica glass. I have a 75mm Summicron and have been considering that body for close-up, wide open shooting.

The A7R II and the A7S II have the same noise at this iso anf I wanted a larger image size.

Hey Peter, great work! I see you use mostly black and white in your work. What is your reason for using or preferring black and white?

    Peter

    I love black and white
