Lacking the academic chops to articulate the logical tread of reasoning that likens Munch and Warhol, I stuck with a simple neologism, SilkSCREAM!, to indicate some similarity in the Munch pose, the Warhol process, and striking-yet-subtle discrepencies in the tone of iconic desacralization of other people’s agony, principally, Marilyn’s in this series of fascinating photographs about art, scenes, tragedy, celebrity and emotional magic.
